Hometown, the leading provider of digital ticketing, fundraising, and website solutions for K–12 schools, announced today that Dennis Levene has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Levene, who previously was the founder of Schoolfundr and was acting Chief Revenue Officer at Hometown, assumes the role as the company continues to expand its platform and deepen its commitment to supporting schools across the country.
Levene founded Schoolfundr in 2022 with a mission to simplify fundraising for schools while eliminating unnecessary fees and giving more back to the programs and students who need it most. After merging with Hometown Ticketing in 2024, the combined company, Hometown, now offers a full suite of tools—fundraising, digital ticketing, and school websites—purpose-built to help schools grow revenue and bring communities together.
Levene succeeds Nick Mirisis, who previously served as CEO. Mirisis will remain actively involved with the company as a Board Advisor, supporting Levene and continuing to help guide Hometown’s long-term strategy.
“Everything we’re doing is grounded in a clear mission: to be the trusted partner in growing school revenue to enable impactful in person student experiences,” said Levene. “That means continuing to improve our technology—but just as importantly, investing in the people behind it. We’re building great tools, yes—but we’re also building a support team that understands how schools operate and shows up when it matters.”
Hometown’s main focus is helping schools simplify operations, increase participation, and maximize impact across athletics, student activities, and the arts. The company is also planning new product enhancements that further unify the fundraising, ticketing, and website experience into one streamlined platform.
Hometown will continue to scale while staying true to its roots—working hand-in-hand with administrators, coaches, and school leaders to remove friction and create better experiences for communities across the country.
“We’re here to make your job easier and your events more successful,” Levene added. “We’re not just building software. We’re building long-term partnerships with the people who shape Hometown experiences every day—and we’re just getting started.”
